Obituary for Sara "Sally" Ann Lambert (Prowell)

Sara “Sally” Prowell Lambert, 82, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on February 15th at Sarah Todd Home in Carlisle.

Born on May 27, 1938 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late James and Anna (Shutt) Prowell of Harrisburg.

Sally was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Lanny. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Deb and Bob Baumgardner and Dan and Beth Lambert; her grandchildren, Taylor, Paige, Sam, and Emmy; her brother Jim and his wife, Billie; her sister-in-law, Patty; and many nieces and nephews.

Sally was an English teacher after graduating from Shippensburg College. She later had other jobs, meeting many dear friends along the way.

She loved to travel; read books and watch TV; play piano; gather collectibles; and serve others, including through Eastern Star and Amaranth. She adored her dogs. Most of all she loved being with her family and friends.

A viewing will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Monday, February 22, 2021 in the Myers-Baker Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill. Following the viewing, a graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm at Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg, with Pastor John H. Brock officiating.
