Obituary for Ruth E. Bierbower (Bowman)

Ruth E. Bierbower, 100, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on July 28, 2020 at her son’s home in Plains, Montana. Born in Camp Hill on September 11, 1919 she was the daughter of Elizabeth and Jacob Bowman. She passed her 100th birthday this past September.
Ruth attended and graduated from Camp Hill high school. Following high school, she married and moved to Grantham.
She was preceded in death by her spouse Robert Bierbower. Ruth is survived by four children Vicky Shuman of Grantham, Jerry Bierbower of Plains, Montana, Mike Bierbower of Elizabethtown, and Denny Bierbower of Enola. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Ruth was very active in the Grantham Brethren in Christ church for the past 75 years. She sang in the Grantham Orotoria, taught Sunday School and helped where she was needed. The loves of her life included her family and family gatherings. She loved the annual trips to the beach where she could be with the family, practice her faith sitting on the beach, and find and collect seashells. She has also spent decades following and supporting missionaries through the “Brethren in Christ World Missions”.
A brief graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grantham Cemetery, 550 Grantham Rd, Mechanicsburg, PA with Pastor David Hall & Pastor David Flowers officiating. A brief celebration of life will be held at the nearby Grantham Brethren in Christ Church following the Graveside Service, all are invited to attend.
