Obituary for Nancy Dunkle (Myers)

Nancy M. Dunkle, 75, of New Cumberland, PA, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at her home.

Born on November 1, 1946, in Harrisburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Doris R. (Rank) Myers.

Nancy was a 1964 graduate of Camp Hill High School. She was the lead majorette for the Camp Hill Band. She went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from Penn State University. Nancy spent her younger years growing up while living above the Myers Funeral Home in Camp Hill. The funeral home was started in 1947 by her father Charlie. Nancy was a retired office manager. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and traveling to the Woodloch Resort in the Poconos. She was devoted to her family and loved them deeply.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 24 years, John Dunkle, of New Cumberland, PA; a son, Ronald Hall, of Springfield, TN; a brother, William Myers, of Mechanicsburg, PA; a sister, Charlene M. Meyers and her husband Amos, of Tucson, AZ; two stepdaughters, Mary Purtle and her husband Charles, of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Amanda Stank and her husband Jacob, of Linglestown, PA; four grandchildren, Matthew Lind and his fiancé Clarissa, of Delaware, John Paul Dobrzyn, of Delaware, Amelia Purtle and Ella Purtle, both of Mechanicsburg, PA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Irma Jean Dobrzyn.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Myers-Baker Funeral Home, 1903 Market St, Camp Hill, PA, with Pastor Tom Willard officiating.
