Obituary for Mary Urffer (Zdep)

Mary M. Urffer, 72, of Etters, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021 at her home.

Born on September 5, 1948, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Zarski) Zdep.

Mary was a graduate of Little Flower Catholic School with the class of 1966, and went on to receive her certification as a nursing assistant in 1990 from Penn State University. She went on to work as an activities coordinator, as well as a visiting and hospice nurse.

Mary was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church of Camp Hill, and participated in their prayer shawl group, the Fellowship Committee, as well as the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the Harrisburg Forest #43 Tall Cedars of Lebanon Cedarettes. Overall Mary was a loving and caring person who enjoyed family and friends, travel, gardening, knitting, and serving others.

She is survived by her husband, Russel, of Etters; three sons, Russel Urffer III and his wife Michelle, of Telford, PA, David Urffer and his wife Amy, of Shrewsberry, PA, and Adam Urffer and his wife Allison, of Lewisburg, PA; five grandchildren, Austin, Maximus, Jacqualine, Cole, and Mason; a sister, Florence Krushinski, of Shamokin, PA; two nephews, Michael Zdep and his wife Maria, of Marlton, NJ, and Brian Kroshinski and his wife Beth, of Shamokin, PA; and two nieces, Betty Zdep, and Cindy Lorenz and her husband Cal, of Shamokin, PA.

Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Michael J. Zdep and John J. Zdep, Jr.; a sister, Barbara Kilroy; and her beloved dog Buddy.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. at St. Timothy Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill, on Saturday, March 20, 2021. A visitation will be held in the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
