Marjorie Hansen, the loving wife of the late Harry Hansen and mother of three, passed away peacefully on November 27th, 2021 in Mechanicsburg PA at the age of 95. She was born March 8, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York. Her mother, Mildred Rotchford Tice, passed away in 1932 from tuberculosis. She was raised by her maternal aunt Edna Rotchford Robotham and her aunt’s husband William Robotham whom she referred to as her mother and father. She grew up in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn and graduated from Lafayette High School. She married Harry Hansen on November 2nd 1947 and they raised their family in Brooklyn where they lived until retiring in 1990 when they moved to Toms River, New Jersey.
Marge loved traveling with friends and family and spent vacations in the Poconos, Florida, California and Alaska as well as Ireland, Greece and Italy. She loved bowling, having dogs, singing in the choir, playing card games with friends and knitting. A lifelong baseball fan she switched allegiance from the Dodgers to the Mets when the Dodgers abandoned Brooklyn. She attended many games at Shea Stadium, and even traveled to Florida to vacation and to see spring training games with her childhood friend Rita Ali.
She is survived by her daughter, and sons William John Hansen and his wife Josephine Amato and James Robert Hansen and his wife Candida Hansen. She was the loving grandmother of six: James Lewis Hansen, Harry Hansen and Brian Hansen, the sons of James and Candida, and Olivia Amato-Hansen and Julianna Maria Amato-Hansen daughters of William and Josephine. She was blessed with three great grandchildren; Lucas Hansen and Lola Hansen the children of Harry and his wife Ashleigh and Emmaline Hansen, daughter of Brian and his wife Taylor. Her love and devotion to family and friends will be greatly missed but her words of support, inspiration and caution will be remembered by all who knew her.
