Karl M Deardorff a resident of Camp Hill passed away on Sunday, January 17th at the age of 75. As a native of Dillsburg, he enjoyed growing up on the family Dairy Farm with his parents, Richard and Marguerite Deardorff, brothers Duane, Kevan, and sister Sue. Their active family was involved in local 4-H clubs, PA annual Farm Show, Dillsburg Farmers Fair, and various activities at Barrens Church.
After high school, Karl enjoyed working as an electrician for Wrightstone Electric and the PA Fish and Game Commission. He was an active member of the Westshoremen Drum and Bugle Corps and he loved the competitions.
As a Patriot he served 3 years in the Army and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. Karl worked as an electrician for the railroad and was in insurance sales. He worked and retired for the Navy Depot in Mechanicsburg for over 30 years as a computer specialist.
While raising his family, he loved sailing on the Chesapeake Bay, camping and going to Blue Grass festivals. Karl thoroughly enjoyed his retirement with Linda while traveling the country in his RV to visit family and friends. He was an active member of the Penn Coachman RV chapter and the editor and creator of the yearly directory.
Karl volunteered his time at Mission Central - Computer Ministries in Mechanicsburg repairing laptops that were donated to local and foreign ministries. He enjoyed working side by side with his mission friends.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Deardorff, daughter Lori Miller and husband Jeff Miller, daughter Kelly Murray and husband Eric Murray. He is preceded in death by his son Rodney L Deardorff. His six grandchildren were the highlight of his life. He was Paw Paw always joking and enjoying family time. Lucy, his dog was his constant companion.
Karl was so full of life, he loved people, seeing new places, and helping others.
Our hearts will forever be filled with memories and his love. He is a Testament of living life to its fullest on this short time here on earth.
In lieu of flowers Karl would have greatly appreciated donations to Computer Ministries.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held at a future date.

Very sad to hear of Karl's passing. As a kid one of my favorite memories was going to visit the deardorf family on the farm. May he rest in peace in God's loving arms.
