Obituary for Karen L Evans (Loges)

Karen Loges Evans of Camp Hill passed away on April 3 and will be sorely missed by family and friends.

Karen was a resident of Camp Hill for 40 years where she was proudly a member of Camp Hill’s Women’s Soccer Team well into her 50’s and gave back to the community as the director of a homeless shelter. Her professional life was varied as she worked as a drug abuse researcher, a systems analyst, and a geologist.

Karen was a life-long conservationist and lover of nature. She expressed her creative and musical interests as a potter, carpenter, and long-time member of the Harrisburg Choral Society. Karen defined interesting and interested. While always a fighter, she eventually lost her battle with diabetes.

Her legacy is carried on by her daughter, Kate Evans; son, Tim Evans; her grandsons, Jack and Eli; her son-in-law, Ryan Walquist; her daughter-in-law, Angelique Jurgill; and Ron, her husband of more than 40 years.

Please celebrate Karen’s life by making donations in her memory to the Pennsylvania Chapter of the Sierra Club, P.O. Box 606, Harrisburg, PA 17108 or the Fredricksen Library, 100 N. 19th St., Camp Hill, PA 17011.

The family is planning a memorial service to be held on Saturday, September 10th at a location and time of day to be determined. If you are interested in attending or further details please email karenlogesevansmemorial@gmail.com.

On behalf of the family, we want to thank those of you who shared your love and life with Karen.
