Obituary for Joseph Lightner
Joseph J. Lightner, 55, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, PA
Born on June 27, 1966, in Camp Hill, PA, he is the son of Annette (Fink) Lightner, of Camp Hill, PA, and the late Earl J. Lightner.
Joe was a graduate of Cedar Cliff High School. He went on to receive his BA degree in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh. Joe worked for Corning Inc. in Wilmington, NC, as a Lab Assistant. He attended the Vibrant Church in Mechanicsburg, PA. Joe enjoyed spending time at the beach, and he truly loved all his family and friends.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 9 years, Sarah Allison (Salmon) Lightner, of Camp Hill, PA; a daughter, Ellaina “Ellie” Lightner, of Raleigh, NC; a stepson, Sean McKinney, of Camp Hill, PA; a step-daughter, Samantha McKinney, of Raleigh, NC, and a nephew, Allen Malseed, of Camp Hill.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Amy Lightner.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Vibrant Church, 1775 Lambs Gap Rd, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050. A visitation with Joe’s family will be held in the church on Saturday from 2:00 pm until the start of the service. Myers-Baker Funeral & Cremation Services, Camp Hill, PA, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
