Obituary for John D. Metro

John D. Metro, 64, of Camp Hill, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
Born on September 25, 1956 in Philadelphia, he was the son of Rosalyn (Stydahar) Metro and the late Joseph Metro.
John was a 1975 graduate of Camp Hill High School. He went on to enlist with the US Army. He started his military career in the 101st Airborne Division, Ft. Campbell, KT. He served during Desert Storm and with the 121st Transportation Unit, Lebanon. After his retirement from the Army, he went on to work for the PA-Dept. of Corrections. He was a Corrections officer for the State Correctional Institute at Camp Hill until his retirement. In his spare time John enjoyed collecting cars and buying and selling on the eBay marketplace. John was a member of the Camp Hill United Methodist Church.
John is survived by his mother, Rosalyn (Stydahar) Metro, of Mechanicsburg; a sister, Lisa Guevara, of Camp Hill; a brother, Joseph Metro and his wife Rebecca, of Arlington, VA; a nephew, Andrew Metro, of Arlington, VA; and a niece, Kathryn Metro, of Woodstock, GA.
Funeral services will be private, and burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
