Obituary for John Keith Bottonari

John Keith Bottonari, 76, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at the Homeland Center in Harrisburg.

Born February 6, 1947, in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late William and Jane (Buttorff) Bottonari.

John was a member of the Central Pennsylvania Friends of Jazz and had an encyclopedic knowledge of the genre. He was a loyal, lifetime Phillies fan. A lover of all animals (especially cats of every size), John became a vegetarian in support of animal rights. He was a wordsmith whose verbal gifts made him an excellent formal and informal debater.
John is survived by his sister, Diane Bottonari Carroll, and her husband, Thomas, of Media, PA; three nephews: Patrick Carroll; Stephen Carroll (and his partner, Sarah Coit), both of Philadelphia; and Timothy Carroll (and his wife, Lauren Roesch), of Washington, D.C. He is also survived by his beloved cat, Joey.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his cat Whitford Bear.
