Obituary for John D. Bedard

John D. Bedard, 75, of Camp Hill, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born June 21, 1944 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Albert J. Sr. and Mary S. (Skapura) Bedard.
John graduated from Cumberland Valley high school and went on to Dickinson College, then to Thompson Institute in Harrisburg, where he received his Associates degree in Business. He worked for his wife’s family printing company as a salesman, eventually becoming President. When he was drafted, he joined a Marine Reserves unit out of Harrisburg, served his years there and later joined the Army Reserves 365th Engineers Unit out of New Cumberland, becoming 1st Sergeant, then served on active duty during Desert Storm. He retired after 21 years of service in 1994. He also worked at local horse shows for many years.
John is survived by his wife of 52 years, Beverly A. (Armstrong) Bedard, of Camp Hill, PA; his son Todd F. Bedard and wife Nicole, and his two grandsons Logan and Drew all of Mechanicsburg, PA; his brothers James Michael Bedard, of AZ, and Albert J. Bedard, Jr., of New Cumberland, PA; his sister, Mary Ann Bedard and husband Timothy Sukay, of Camp Hill, PA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother Robert C. Bedard.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the Mt. Calvary Episcopal Church, 125 N. 25th Street, Camp Hill. A visitation will be held in the Church on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Burial with Military Honors will be held following the service in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill, PA.
