Obituary for James E. Reid, Jr.

James E. Reid, Jr, 78, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Claremont Nursing & Rehab, Carlisle, PA.

Born on March 5, 1944, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late James E. and Pearl (Hoffmann) Reid.

Jim was a 1962 graduate of Haddonfield High School. He went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from Juniata College and then completed his juris doctorate from Kent College of Law. He received his Master of Law degree from George Washington University. Following his graduation from law school he worked as an FBI special agent, then went on to work as an attorney in private practice, for close to 40 years, in the Harrisburg Area. Jim loved golfing and going on couples’ golf trips. He joined the Country Club of Harrisburg in 1978 and was an active member for over 30 years. Jim enjoyed music. He began playing the trumpet in high school and played in a jazz band in his spare time. He played collegiate baseball for Juniata College. Jim was quick to tell a joke and loved to make people laugh. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Diane (Alexander) Reid, of Camp Hill, PA; three daughters: Danna Lamarca and her husband Michael, of Camp Hill, PA; Meredith Howell and her husband Douglas, of Mechanicsburg, PA; and Jamie Kuhlman, of Enola, PA; four grandchildren: Madison and Evan Lamarca, both of Camp Hill, PA, Ava Howell, of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Maya Kuhlman, of Enola, PA.

All are invited to attend a visitation with Jim’s family, to be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Friday, October 7, 2022, in the Myers-Baker Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill, PA.
