Obituary for Gladys R. Taylor (Wolff)

Gladys R. (Wolff) Taylor of Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania and Dade City, Florida left us to be with Jesus on March 15, 2023. Born January 12, 1931, in Herminie, PA, she was the daughter of the late Albert W. and Ruth Ewig Wolff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Wilma Martz, and June Fawcett.

Gladys was a beloved wife and mother who was adored by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and everyone else who knew her. While their children were young, she and Clint took them camping throughout the lower 48 states and to the beach every year. When the grandkids were old enough, they got their turn to travel with Clint and Gladys. After retirement Gladys and Clint traveled to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Figi and throughout North America in their Airstream with WBCCI. They spent the last 30 years as snowbirds at Travelers Rest Resort and Golf Course (TR) in Dade City, Florida where Glady was three-time golf champion, and was delighted to have four holes-in-one.

Gladys carefully tended to her flower gardens in Pennsylvania and Florida, sang in the TR church choir for 20 years, participated in many of the TR musicals, coordinated and ran the American Cancer Society’s Walk for a Cure for over a decade in Florida and was a volunteer for Alzheimer fundraisers.

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 72 years, Clint (Clarence) Taylor; daughters Sandy Skufis Nelson and her husband Mark of Forest Hill, MD; Laurie Zentmyer and her husband Steve of Camp Hill, PA; Ruth Bordner and her husband Brad of Camp Hill; three grandsons, one granddaughter, and three great-grandchildren.

Gladys received her RN training at Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA. Prior to her retirement in 1987 she was employed by Polyclinic Hospital as the Coordinator of the Family Practice unit.

The family would like to thank the staff at Messiah Lifeways Asper Memory Care Unit and Donegal Neighborhood for the loving care they provided to Glady the last three years.
