Obituary for Fay A. Pepperman (Johnson)

Fay A. Pepperman, 95, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, December 22, 2022.

Born on January 20, 1927, in Milton, PA, she was the daughter of the late William S. and Anna M. (Renninger) Johnson.

Fay was a graduate of Milton High School. She went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from Jefferson Hospital College of Nursing in Philadelphia. She was a registered nurse. She started her nursing career working briefly for Evangelical Hospital and went on to work at Seidel Memorial Hospital in Dr. Stahl and Dr. Zimmerman’s office. Fay was an active, longtime, member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Camp Hill. She was a former Girl Scout and Cub Scout Pack Mother. She loved gardening, playing bridge, and golfing. She was a member of the Armitage Ladies Golf Group. Fay was a member of Jefferson College Alumni Association and their local satellite alumni groups. She and her husband Bill, loved to travel and go to the beach. When Bill retired, they started spending their winters in N. Myrtle Beach. Most of all, she loved caring for her family and spending time with them.

She is survived by four sons, William A. Pepperman, Jr., of Camp Hill, PA; Robert E. Pepperman and his wife Kathy, of Catonsville, MD; David B. Pepperman and his wife Joyce, of Wilmington, NC; and Donald L. Pepperman and his wife Beth, of Lewisberry, PA; a brother, Robert Johnson, of Little Rivers, SC; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William A. Pepperman, Sr., four brothers, Larry, Harold, William Jr., and Kenneth, and three sisters, Ruth, Carrie, Donna.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 28, 2023, in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut St., Camp Hill, PA, 17011, with Rev. John H. Brock officiating. A visitation will be held in the church on Saturday, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. A private interment will be held in the church’s columbarium. Myers-Baker Funeral & Cremation Services, Camp Hill, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
