Obituary for Edmund "Terry" C. Taranowski

Edmund “Terry” C. Taranowski, 89, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Country Meadows Retirement Community, Mechanicsburg.
Born on April 3, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Victor and Stella (Szychulda) Taranowski.
Edmund was a graduate of Saint John Kanty Prep School in Erie, PA. He was a veteran of the US Army. Edmund was a retired Lithographer for Ivy Hill Printing Company. He was a longtime member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Camp Hill. He and his wife participated in the church’s Pre-Cana program; counseling couples who were soon to be married. Edmund was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 10685, Camp Hill.
Edmund was survived by his wife of 68 years, Joan (Westfall) Taranowski, of Mechanicsburg, although Joan passed away only nine days after her husband. He is survived by a daughter, Laura McCormick and her husband Robert, of Carlisle; two sons, Gregory Taranowski and his wife Kimberly, of DeLand, FL, and Paul Taranowski and his wife Sherry, of Madison, WI; five grandchildren, Eric, Michael, Ryan, and Brady McCormick, and Victoria Taranowski; two great grandchildren, Olivia and Brayden McCormick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edmund was preceded in death by five brothers, Joseph, Louis, John, Anthony, and Stanley; and three sisters, Victoria, Florence, and Ann.
A mass of Christian burial for Edmund and Joan will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 9, 2020, in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 3435 E. Trindle Rd., Camp Hill, with Rev. Neil S. Sullivan as Celebrant. Viewings for both will be held in the church on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the mass. A graveside service for both Edmund and Joan will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with military honors for Edmund. The service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, January 22, 2021. All are invited to attend the graveside service. Please meet directly at the cemetery Friday the 22nd at 10:30am. Enter the main entrance of the cemetery and turn right just before the office where the sign says ALL BURIALS.
