Obituary for Cathy C Klinger (Snyder)

Cathy C. Klinger, 65, of Enola, PA, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022, at UPMC West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg, PA.

Born on August 27, 1956, in Harrisburg, PA, she is the daughter of the late Richard and Mary (Riegel) Snyder.

Cathy was a graduate of Upper Dauphin High School in Elizabethville. During her high school years, she was a cheerleader on the school cheer squad and showed interest in fashion merchandising. Following her graduation, she worked in the administrative department for the Naval Support Activity Base in Mechanicsburg. It is with the Federal Govt Cathy had the unique experience of raising her 3 children, through their early years, in Japan and the Philippines. Cathy’s spirituality was very important to her. She was a practicing Christian and a proud member of the Vibrant Christian Church in Mechanicsburg. Prior to her diagnosis with multiple sclerosis, she found great joy and peace from running and outdoor activity. She loved to dance and meet new people. She was disappointed to lose the ability to run as her illness progressed and forced her to begin to use a wheelchair in her early 40’s. Though her disability limited her mobility, it never dampened her spirit. Anyone who met Cathy would say she was very kind, always positive, charismatic, and a pleasure to be around. She was a true warrior when it came to fighting her ailments, yet she was such a gentle soul. As an animal lover, she supported various non-profits including the Humane Society and Speranza Animal Rescue. Her deep affection for animals was symbolic of her selfless love of humanity. Cathy was steadfast in always putting others before herself. In her own words, Cathy wished to simply be known as a ‘kind’ person.

Cathy is survived by two sons, Tony Klinger and his wife Sarah, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Coy Klinger, of Harrisburg, PA; a daughter, Jen L. Kroesen and her husband John, of Mechanicsburg, PA; and four grandchildren, Marly Kate Klinger, Cruz Anthony Klinger, Kingston John Kroesen, and Londyn Grey Kroesen.

Cathy's Final Happy Hour, a celebration of her life, is currently being planned for Friday June 24, 2022 at Dukes Bar & Grill on the Riverside. Arrangements will be posted at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Cathy’s name to Speranza Animal Rescue, 1216 Brandt Rd, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, www.speranzarescue.org

Cathy’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers that were there to provide support and assistance to her in the years before her passing. Their companionship left an indelible mark on her life experience. Although the pain of her passing may eventually subside, her memory will truly live on in our hearts for infinity. We can only pray we inherit even a small piece of Cathy’s innate ability to live life without complaint, love others without judgment, and most important to Forgive…even when the pure notion of Forgiveness feels impossible. May Cathy now experience her greatest joy of life, now with God in the afterlife.
