Obituary for Catherine Farkas (Litzinger)

Catherine Farkas, 82, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at the Church of God Home, Carlisle.
Born on January 14, 1938 in Amsbry, PA, she was the daughter of the late James and Evelyn (Blakeney) Litzinger, and she was the widow of Stephen Farkas, II.
Catherine was a graduate of Ebensburg Cambria High School. She was retired from Blue Shield Insurance Company and also worked as an office assistant for Stephenson’s Flowers. Catherine was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Camp Hill, as well as the Blue Shield Retiree’s Club. She loved reading, gardening, solving puzzles, and cooking and baking. Catherine especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Stephen Farkas, III and his wife Jennifer, of York Springs; three daughters, Catherine Kiner and her husband Ralph, of York Haven; Christine Farkas, of York Springs; and Cynthia Group and her husband Bryan, of Lewisberry; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; and five sisters: Sally Sokira, Joan Petrunak, Carole Wasser, Becky Detwiler and Pamela Krall.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Mason and Ginger Ball and brother James Litzinger.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Rolling Green Cemetery, 1811 Carlisle, Rd., Camp Hill. Myers-Harner Funeral & Cremation Services, Camp Hill, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
