Obituary for Carolyn Q. Gouse (Quickel)
Carolyn Q. Gouse, age 74, of Lancaster, PA formerly of Chesterfield, VA passed away Friday, May 21, 2021.
She was a graduate of The Grier School for Girls and studied at Episcopal Hospital School of Nursing. Carolyn had been a member of Oak Baptist Church in Chesterfield, VA. She was a hospital administrative assistant for Park City Hospital before her retirement.
Carolyn was a loving, caring, strong woman who loved her family fiercely. She was a lifelong teacher and learner of many things including horticulture, sewing and painting. She had a great appreciation of medicine and loved her two cats. Her delicious recipes were the talk of her family. Carolyn was always ready to lend an ear to a friend and selflessly gave to others.
She will be sadly missed by her sons; Kenneth Gouse Sr. (Gloria) of Orange, CT and Dennis Gouse Jr. (Kimberly) of Elizabethtown, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Dennis Gouse Sr., and her parents: Dr. Kenneth Quickel and Carolyn Chick Quickel.
She is survived by her brothers: Kenneth and Stephen Quickel; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. As well as her beloved cats Cali and Merlin.
