Obituary for Calvin E. Deiterich, III

Calvin E, Deiterich III, of Camp Hill, left to join the Lord on Thursday, June 22, 2023. With his wife by his side, he passed at West Shore Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Calvin was born in Hazleton, PA, to Calvin E. Deiterich Jr and Isabel W. Deiterich. He was a loving Husband, Son-In-Law, Friend, and lover of all animals, especially his Aussies.

Calvin is survived by his loving wife, Tina (Stimeling) Deiterich, and his Mother-In-Law Karen Stimeling. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin E. Deiterich Jr and Isabel W. Deiterich, and Father-In-Law, Ralph G. Stimeling.

Throughout his life, Calvin was a kind and gentle man, always willing to lend a hand to help, lift up another, and cared deeply for his wife, Aussies, and Nature. A veteran of the US Coast Guard, serving 1968- 1972, including as an instructor at Governor's Island, NY and in Thailand, where his passion for cooking began. Working for Harrisburg Area Community College, in both IT and Media Services, for over 40 years, Calvin took pride in his work and enjoyed being able to help others.

Calvin loved to cook almost any kind of food, woodworking, hiking, RVing with his wife and dear friends, and especially spending time with those he loved the most.

Calvin was a past Master of Newport-Tennis Lodge and was active in the Newport Royal Arch Chapter #238, Harrisburg Council #7 Royal & Select Masons, St. Johns Commandery, Valley of Harrisburg Consistory, and the Harrisburg Forest #43 of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon.

A memorial service will be held at Myers-Baker Funeral Home, 1903 Market Street, Camp Hill, on June 29, 2023. Visitation to be held from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm, with a service to begin at 1:00 pm, conducted by Pastor Debbie Ryder. A private interment will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Central PA Animal Alliance, 180 Walden Way, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
