Bonnie Faerber’s precious life ended peacefully on April 24th, 2021 with her daughters by her side. It was a beautiful sunny Saturday morning with her garden flowers blooming and animals romping and playing in her backyard. It was Bonnie’s kind of day. She was 79 years old.

Bonnie was born Aug 18, 1941 and raised in North Adams, Massachusetts. She was part of a large loving family of 6 sisters and 1 brother. Her parents were Laura Estes Hemenway and Herbert Hemenway. She is survived by 2 sisters Nancy Martin and Sally Butera both of Massachusetts. She was the wife of David Faerber for 59 years. They met in Massachusetts and moved to Pennsylvania in 1972 to raise their 4 daughters. Being so far from her relatives for the first time, she focused all her energy on raising her family and her new home.

From her four daughters she was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was lucky enough to have been close to all her grandchildren as they grew up, allowing her to have an active role in all of their lives.

She had a daughter Laura Beth Walters (Todd) of Clifton VA, Rebecca Chrencik (Paul) of Camp Hill PA, Heidi Faerber of Camp Hill PA, and Dawn Faerber of Camp Hill PA. Her grandchildren were Mathew Walters (Lindsey), Megan Walters, Sarah Walters, Kevin Chrencik (Alyssa), Michael Chrencik, Katie Chrencik, Ashley Chrencik, Amanda Amen, Christina Amen, Myles Webb, and Emily Moody. Her great grandchildren were Ben and Claire Walters.

She was a dedicated mother and grandmother foremost. She dearly treasured her four girls (her “Little Women”) and all her grandchildren, embracing every moment with them. She especially loved her role as “Grammy”.

Over the years, she became known as the woman with a passion for many things. She loved trying new recipes, lunching with her friends, getting her hair and nails done, keeping up with the latest fashions, walking her beloved dogs around the circle with the grandkids, beach vacations with the families, managing her daughter’s medical office, Friday night dinner reservations, driving the grandkids back and forth to school with her dog on her lap, and making things with her hands. She loved sewing, knitting, decorating and crafting. But her true passion was with Holidays. She loved decorating her fireplace mantel and arranging a gorgeous holiday table. She would begin working on setting the table days in advance to have it just right and perfect with her china, centerpieces and decorations. Everyone had a place at the table, even if you were an adult still assigned with a place card at the “kids table”.

She was not ready to stop her holiday plannings, but her party was cut short after she lost a courageous battle with cancer. No party will ever be the same without her. Her spirit can be summed up in a few of her last words… “just give me some exercises to do”…. She is, was, and always will be the light of this family’s heart, She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.

Services will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to JDRF, SPCA or Hospice of Central PA.
