Anna Ellen Hunsicker Boyd, 96, of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, died with family at her bedside Monday, January 18, 2021. Ellen (Grammie) was born October 8, 1924 in Coatesville, Chester County. She was the youngest of three children of the late Eugene and Helen Newlin Hunsicker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, the former Clarence C. Boyd Jr., and her two brothers. She is survived by her children, Craig S. Boyd Esq., Krista E. Shedlosky, Darryl S. Boyd, and Neil M. Boyd; ten grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Ellen graduated from the Chester County Hospital School of Nursing in 1947 and practiced as a Registered Nurse for 40 years. She began her career at the Coatesville Hospital caring for new mothers and their newborn babies and ended her career as an Occupational Health Nurse at AMP Inc., Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She was a member of the West Shore Baptist Church in Camp Hill. Ellen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an avid reader who was known for finishing more than one book in a day. She enjoyed attending family events, including many of her grandchildren’s baseball and softball games. Ellen was an extremely loving, energetic woman who died due to complications from COVID and will be dearly missed.
