Obituary for Ann Markley (Morris)

Ann M. Markley, 82, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at her home with family by her side.

Born on October 3, 1940, in Harrisburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Mildred (Hunter) Morris, and she was the widow of the late Donald E. Markley.

Ann was a graduate of Central Dauphin High School and went on to receive her bachelor's degree from Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA. She was dedicated to her community, neighbors, friends and most of all, her family. She was very generous with her time and talents as she was past president of the Penn Cumberland Garden Club, Capital City Polka Dancers, Camp Hill Civic Club and Camp Hill Jr. Civic Club. She served on the Camp Hill School Board, was Camp Hill tax collector, and was a Deacon and Elder at Camp Hill Presbyterian Church. Ann was a Master Gardener, and she honed her gardening skills almost every day as she loved spending time working in her many gardens, especially at her childhood home, Morris Medley. Here she built a labyrinth and a butterfly house to create a place of peace and beauty for the public to enjoy. Her greatest joy came from her family, she never missed an opportunity to gather everyone for a meal, watch the grandkids sporting events and activities, or celebrate every achievement and holiday, no matter how big or small.

She is survived by two sons, William Markley and Peter Markley (Melissa), a daughter, Karen Will(Brent), a son-in-law, Jason Rubin, and ten grandchildren, Mya Tavani(Matthew), Asher Markley, Nathan, Lily, and Claire Markley, Ryan and Tyler Rubin, and Ella, Callie, and Carson Will.

In addition to her husband Don, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Rubin, and her brother, John Morris II.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 28, 2023, at the Camp Hill Presbyterian Church, 101 N. 23rd St., Camp Hill, PA. A viewing will precede the service at 10:00 A.M. The family will also be receiving friends at a reception to be held in the church immediately following the service.
